Job Summary:

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, the Technical Operations Specialist (TOS) will be responsible for field technical support during battery system installation & commissioning, scheduled maintenance, and unplanned maintenance related to battery energy storage systems installed in North America. It is anticipated that the TOS will concurrently support multiple customers / projects.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a relatively small North American regional organization with specialized technical and commercial support from Korea-based associates. Primary responsibilities of the TOS will be associated with supporting distributors and resellers of the Company’s Residential Energy Storage Units (RESUs). Responsibilities are expected to include, as a minimum, the following:

  • Technical Operations support during all phases of a RESU installation and operations, including:
  • Training of customer personnel, covering installation, commissioning and maintenance
  • Routine maintenance, including installation and replacement of components as needed
  • Updating software
  • First-line of response to customer
  • Resolution of technical issues encountered during operations as required and coordinating with QA and technical teams
  • Arrange to replace any components/ systems and forward failed equipment under RMA procedures.
  • Follow up with QA on any quality issues that adversely impact customer operations to identify root cause(s) and remedial actions for customer briefings
  • Production of Field Service Reports and where necessary contribute to QA reports on such events for presentation to customers
  • Effectively represent the Company in all interactions with the customer including senior management, product management, technical and operations specialists.
  • Provide verbal and/or written status reports to management.
  • Technical Operations support during RESU operations

Personal Characteristics:

  • Able to travel extensively throughout North America & Canada and to spend extended periods at customer (up to approx. 80%)
  • Participate in conference calls with product teams in Asia, often across multiple time zones and sometimes outside of normal business hours.
  • Professional, highly motivated individual with a strong results-oriented work ethic.
  • A strong team player who thrives in a role that requires significant personal contributions, and depends on the successful collaboration between North American and Korea-based team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a minimum of supervision.
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are unique and complex. Ability to proactively suggest improvements in products or work methodology.
  • Comfortable working beyond normal office hours as required to meet customer expectations



  • The successful candidate will possess:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in complex mechanical assembly preferably in the energy industry. Experience with installation of energy storage systems or renewable energy products or systems to electric utilities or project developers would be highly desirable.
  • Some programming or software skills
  • Specialist knowledge of battery / other energy storage products and technology would be a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, and presentation
