Advanced Battery Development Engineer
Development Engineer with a background in battery development to work with the Advanced Energy and Power Team on unique battery and battery management systems for custom power systems. The desired candidate will have demonstrated experience in battery design, development and fabrication using commercial Li‐Ion cells. Experience with the design of systems using high energy or high power density cells is a strong preference. The successful candidate will lead thedevelopment of custom batteries for niche commercial markets. This will include working with the
customers to understand their applications and optimize our products for their end use.
 
This person will work closely with a highly qualified team of engineers in an exciting and technically diverse organization.
 
Education & Experience Required:
  • BS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline and 7 plus years relevant experience (higher
level education may substitute for some experience).
  • Experience with Li‐Ion batteries.
  • Experience with battery system design including battery management systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • High energy and self‐motivated with good problem solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for government clearance and or data/software access.
Desired (considered but not required):
  • Skills and experience with materials compatibility, packaging, tooling design, welding, processengineering, testing and data analysis is desired.
  • Business development experience.
  • Experience with battery testing and UN certification.
  • Experience with high power, large format Li‐Ion cells and battery configurations.
Work Description:
