This FAE role will provide support for our customers as they evaluate and develop systems using our automotive Ethernet products. This FAE will be absolutely vital for supporting Tier-1 customers along with auto OEM's. This role is dedicated to supporting the automotive Ethernet PHY & Switch products.

Job Description -  Responsibilities:

The Software Field Application Engineer is responsible for developing strong relationships with the customers. It is the Field Application Engineer’s responsibility to own, solve or drive all customer technical issues to resolution. They are also responsible for program managing their customer projects and ensuring alignment with the company’s internal developments.
Field Application Engineers are also responsible for helping customers with a wide range of support material, including Application Notes, Design Guides, Reference Design Packs, Development and Evaluation Kits as needed.

This role requires detailed technical knowledge of Automotive Ethernet product groups, with strong background in Ethernet PHY’s / Switches.

Must have high technical competence, excellent communication and presentation skills, good problem solving attitude, and be able to adapt to a very dynamic work environment and changing customer requirements.

 

This role includes activities such as:

  •  
  • Assistance during setup of reference designs, building SDK for the customer
  • Maintenance of reference and demo setups, as well as dealing with software SDKs
  • On-site support to debug and investigate technical issues
  • Preparation of technical documentation (application notes, white papers, FAQ’s, presentations, training material)
  • Travelling will be required

Qualifications:

  •  
  • BS in computer science or EE, MS desired
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software development

Required skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Ethernet debugging tools (sniffing tools) and the evaluation of appropriate test logs
  • Hands-on experience with Ethernet systems, preferably Ethernet switches and IEEE802.1 protocols
  • Must be comfortable with ARM based embedded platform architecture and digital electronics
  • Experience in embedded SW architecture and software development tools, as well as low level software (boot loaders, device drivers, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with creating SDK build environment, compiling and debugging code
  • Experience coding in C/C++ in an embedded environment
  • Hands-on experience using real-time ARM JTAG debugger
  • Excellent communication skills and able to present in front of customers

Desired skills:

  •  
  • AVB/TSN/PTP/1588 experience beneficial
  • Knowledge of Ethernet switches and an understanding of 802.1 switching protocols
  • Experience with the automotive market and customers is preferred
