Primarily responsible for overseeing safety, regulatory, or emerging field issue investigations. Ensures timely identification and reaction to new issues with regular reporting to management. Performs detailed analysis of dealership problem descriptions on a regular basis, tracking and identifying any relevant trends or new emerging issues.



1. Ensures all field issue related communication is accurate, on-time, and the appropriate documentation has been reviewed.

2. Performs vehicle investigations at dealerships, requiring the use of various hand-tools, instrumentation and diagnostic equipment.

3. Supports the investigation of field issues through monitoring of internal databases, MEPQR system, and the warranty claim system, and effective reporting of results at various stages of the investigation.

4. Participates in training/product information exchange with appropriate data sources.

5. Accepts other ad hoc analyses at management's request literature, customer data systems, analysis, investigation, quality systems, etc..

6. Effectively gathers and analyzes critical information and scientific facts by conducting incident investigations and vehicle inspections in accordance with established protocol, to produce an engineering conclusion that assists the engineering and quality teams in making sound decisions.

7. Makes travel arrangements and arranges vehicle investigations with dealerships/service groups.

8. Contributes to customer satisfaction by investigating complaints regarding certain engineering topics and alleged product defects identifying the problem area and recommends further action to the responsible group.



1. Four-year degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent.

2. Automotive — proficient knowledge of automotive technical information systems and repair diagnostic procedures.

3. Government — basic knowledge of laws, government regulations, and agency rules as it rates to the automotive industry.

4. Data Analysis— experience with complex data analysis, including statistical, is required.

5. Problem Solving — thorough understanding of problem solving methodology 8D Problem Solving, 5 Why, etc. required.

6. Warranty — thorough understanding of automotive warranty systems and reporting methodology.

7. Experience with all Microsoft Office tools, including working knowledge of Access, Excel,and Sharepoint.



1. Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required.

2. Must possess a valid passport and have the ability to travel outside the country.
