Develops test equipment to ensure battery management systems (BMS) and battery packs conform to specifications and design, develop NI LabVIEW, conduct BMS pack parametric test, and provides technical support and assistance to other departments as necessary (such as EE/ME Product Design, Manufacturing, and Test and Validation).


Essential Duties

  • Review and summarize customer requirements, internal product requirements and systems design
  • Research and develop new test methods and analyze project requirements
  • Define detailed testability requirements and generate test specifications
  • Review and understand product schematics and system drawings
  • Develop test specifications, test procedures with internal staff and product clients
  • Manage the procurement, create wiring diagrams, update and fabrication of test equipment
  • Set-up and conduct pre and post DV and PV parametric (tri-temp/tri-voltage) testing
  • Perform failure analysis and assist in corrective product actions
  • Understand OEM CAN data message structure, interpret and analyze CAN data using CANalyzer
  • Develop and work within testing budgets and timing objectives
  • Review test specification, test results with customers and other cross functional team members
  • Prepare test result reports and review them with customers
  • Create user guide, train engineers and technicians in the use of test equipment
  • Review and resolve issues with internal staff, clients, and suppliers
  • Support on-site manufacturing, developmental testing, and contract testing.
  • Support production, advanced projects, customer production planning and field issues
  • Support validation testing and test setup outside test lab as needed
  • Experience in automotive product management, design, testing, release and/or manufacturing.
  • Provide feedback of lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in work area in accordance with guidelines
  • Knowledge real time embedded development, message structure and signal processing
  • Develop and maintain NI LabVIEW and or TestStand-based test software applications.
  • Design, develop NI LabVIEW software application using TestStand
  • Implemented modifications to existing LabVIEW applications
  • Expert in LabVIEW programming for automated test equipment
  • Lead LabVIEW development for a new project
  • Document test software updates and create or maintain software user guides
  • Support warranty test and software integration testing
  • Participated in hardware and software design review and support software integration testing
  • Design automated test system for monitoring analog signals and controlling AVL Aero environment cyclers
  • Lead test stand development and troubleshooting activities with a supplier and validate functionality.






  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university required
  • At least 10 years automotive design and release, product management, product design, product testing, product launch, and manufacturing experience


  • Certified LabVIEW or TestStand Developer (CLD, CLA, CTD, CTA) with at least 5 years of experience as LabVIEW/TestStand Developer
