Job Functions

  • This position is for a control systems engineer. The role of this position is to ensure that customer expectations are met by overseeing the control architecture of the hybrid battery system and ensuring control requirements are properly rolled down and implemented at both a HW and Software level. This position will be a key interface between the customer, EE HW, and SW teams in developing and evolving the control architecture.
  • Develop control system designs and create schematics for the battery management and related electrical system.
  • Support SW and circuit design and analysis for the BMS. Experience in electronics design/release of control modules (i.e., with embedded SW) or SW design/release for control modules within automotive environment
  • Formally release work products (specifications, designs) into use, including appropriate internal and customer-specific sign-off and release steps.
  • Perform Technical Design Reviews. TDRs will be expected at the Concept, Detailed Design, and Production Sign-off stages.
  • Create test plans and execute test plans for verifying system level functional of controls architecture.
  • Support the Quality and Reliability efforts (e.g., DFMEA, Robustness Assessments, Key-Life Testing) relative to control systems. Practice efficient on-going project management, including feedback of lessons learned, continuous improvement, and reuse of specifications and designs.
  • The control systems engineer is responsible for receiving customer requests, developing system solutions, managing systems requirements and interfaces, and developing innovative solutions.

Job Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Develop high level control functions and schematic diagrams
  • Evaluate electrical and electronics components ability to meet control functions.
  • Work with EE HW and SW teams to ensure designs meet control functions with robustness.
  • Define and implement control architecture development & control system validation.
  • Adhere to change management disciplines (change requests, version control, change validation and release).
  • Support product development and production troubleshooting efforts.
  • Support quality, reliability and failure reporting; drive closed-loop handling of all issues to ensure continuous improvement and to prevent recurrence of failures.
